South Korean Scientists Unlock Secret to Extending Men’s Lives

Scientists may have found a way for men to live longer. However, the solution might cause them to think twice.

In a study conducted in South Korea, researchers found that eunuchs apparently live longer lives compared to normal males.

Eunuchs are known to have their genitals cut off before they can enter the palace. Since they stay in the palace almost all the time, castration is required, to keep them from having sexual relations with the female members of the royalty.

Scientists discovered that eunuchs live an estimate of 14-19 years longer than males living outside the palace. In fact, of the 81 eunuchs they included in the study, three lived until 100 years of age or more.

They also found that kings and other male members of the royal family live only up to their mid-forties.

After studying the genealogy of the eunuchs, the scientists concluded that castration may be a solution for extending one’s life.
